Love your fellow Jew
Â
In these past days, I've listened to various conferences by rabbis from around the world discussing the current situation in Eretz Israel. Some talk about the Messianic era, others about politics, and yet others about repentance. However, what each of them emphasized is the urgent need to eliminate 'sinas chinam' (baseless hatred).
Â
Drawing lessons from history, Hitler made no distinction between religious and non-religious Jews; he targeted them all. Today, Hamas displays a similar indifference. Tragically, the lack of tolerance, love, and patience to embrace the diversity within our Holy Nation exists among us, fellow
Jews.
Â
We must come together as one and love our fellow Jews, regardless of their political or religious views. We are all part of the same family. It's important to note that loving your fellow Jew doesn't preclude healthy debates – after all, the saying goes, 'two Jews, three
opinions.' Even the Gemara is filled with 'machlokes' (arguments); it's part of our tradition to engage in debate and discussion to arrive at the 'Emes' (truth).
Â
This situation serves as a call to our attention from Hashem, emphasizing the importance of unity. We must stand
together and embrace one another, whether we are secular, religious, or Chasidic, as 'achdus' (unity) is the key to a swift and merciful redemption.
