Let Shabbat take care of you
Have you ever wondered why some weeks flow smoothly while others seem forgettable? This week, I ran upon a profound insight that I wanted to share with you.
In this week's Parasha (Ki Tisa), Hashem
emphasizes the commandment of observing Shabbat. We know from the Torah that Hashem completed His work on the seventh day, but what does this means? After all, creation was finished on the sixth day, not the seventh!
Â
The Ohr HaChaim offers a fascinating interpretation: he suggests that the initial state of creation was unsustainable. Everything Hashem created lacked the ability to sustain itself
until Shabbat came, infusing all of creation with sustenance. Isn't that an incredible revelation? But how does this relate to us?
Â
Each Friday night, as we welcome Shabbat with Lecha Dodi, we proclaim that Shabbat is the source of all blessings. In essence, Shabbat breathes life into our week! How we spend our Shabbat influences the course of our week. For instance, if we approach
our Shabbat meals with sanctity and joy, they become a source of blessing for the meals we are going to have the entire week.
Â
Have you ever experienced a week filled with turmoil, anxiety, and little success? It's likely tied to how you spent your Shabbat! If you desire a peaceful week, invest in a meaningful Shabbat experience.
Engage in Kabbalistic Meditation during Shabbat to infuse tranquility into your week.Â
Â
May we all merit the ability to observe Shabbat properly and transform our lives for the better!
