, as you might know we are in the final days of Adar Aleph, that means Aleph Beis is coming which means Purim is coming! 

Purim is all about joy! For some, it's the most fun of all Jewish holidays, and spiritually, it's one of the most special times in the Jewish calendar. Our Sages even say that Purim is even more elevated than Yom Kippur!
 

To have the best Purim experience, we need to be prepared, and we're just in time. Before Purim, there are two important things we do: the fast of Esther and something you might not know about, called Machatzit HaShekel, which is given during the fast at Mincha time.
 

In short, Machatzit HaShekel is a donation we make to remember the contributions given to the Temple's treasury each year. We give three half coins because the word "teruma" appears three times when this commandment was given.
 

Now, let me tell you about something special: Rabbi Shimson Chaim was a great Kabbalist. He wrote a famous book called Zera Shimshon. He promises that whoever learns from his book will receive blessings like children, abundance, and good health.
