This Email is dedicated for the Refua Shelema of Tova Bas Rivka and the Salvation of Shemuel Nachman ben Tziporah Hadasah.
Baruch Hashem we are now right before Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan, Parashat Bereshis, on Rosh Chodesh there is an extra measure of Kedusha that comes to this world, there is a custom in every Rosh chodesh to say Tehilim 24 Barchi Nafshi Ma Rabu Maasecha Hashem, with in this tehillim of Rosh Chodesh there are many secrets of Maase Brereshis. The Ramban
wrote a whole article about the hints of Maase Breshis in this chapter of Tehillim, and specifficaly when we read the parasha of Bereshis on Shabbat it becomes more suitable and a much bigger opportunity for salvations and rejuvenation's. Try to read it slowly contemplating on the words to find how all the creation is found in this beautiful tehilim.
We all start our lives as we were in Mitzrayim. Our neshamos, which are a heavenly light, come down into our small relatively insignificant bodies. For our souls, our bodies are considered a Mitzrayim which comes from the root “meitzer”, meaning a narrow place. Additionally, the Satan waits for us in ambush as soon as we emerge into this world as it says “At the door sin lies”. This refers to the Yetzer Hora who tries to seduce a person to get involved with
everything this world has to offer. The Arizal writes that a person is a slave to his evil inclination. To be able to worship Hashem we need to free ourselves from this Yetzer Hora. This is called Yetzias Mitzrayim. This is our true Zman Cheiruseinu- time of freedom. Without this, we cannot begin our avoda.
The next stage is Sefiras Haomer. Then, we train ourselves to wait and prepare for something. Chazal say “One who comes to purify himself gets helped, and is told to wait”. We need to fulfill many conditions to merit coming close to Hashem. These conditions are clearly stated in the Torah. The Torah is our guideline how to worship Hashem throughout our lifetime in this world.
Only afterwards can we reach Shavuos and experience the closeness to Hashem we strived for. We can enjoy this until 120 years. After that comes a person’s own “Rosh Hashanah”. This is when a person transfers to the next world and stands before the heavenly court in judgement. It’s very difficult to come clean from their judgment as Dovid HaMelech writes “No living being can be fully righteous in front of you”. Similarly the Gemara writes “There is no righteous person in the land that does good
without sinning”. This is Rosh Hashanah.
Then comes his own Yom Kippur when he sees that his earthly deeds were not sufficient and he pleads for mercy. That is a real Yom Kippur.
Then Hashem has mercy and showers him with Chesed; this is Succos. Succos is called by the Mekubalim as “The time of drawing Chesadim”.
Then finally comes Shemini Atzeres. What do we do then? We dance! Chazal tell us that in the days to come Hashem will make a circle for the Tzadikim to dance in and he will sit inside of it. Everyone will then point with his finger and say “This is Hashem that we hoped for”.
When we dance during our lives with the Sefer Torah on Simchas Torah we should think about the future when Hashem will hold the Sefer Torah, and all of us, being that we are all called Tzadikim, will dance with him.
Of course, there are many more details to this but with these ideas alone we can accomplish a great deal for ourselves and for all of Klal Yisroel and the whole world.
May it be his will that he draw for us all the lights our souls need in this world and the next, for all of Klal Yisroel wherever they may be.
Speak to you soon!
Warmest wishes,
