ALL ABOUT REINCARNATION IN KABBALAH course.
It is known that when someone passes away the soul leaves the body, but tis process is not as simple as it sounds. For starters, the type of life that the person had will directly impact how hard and painful it is four the soul to leave the body. If the person was very attached to the material pleasures and did not take care about his spiritual life, the soul is going to suffer a painful process to be able to leave the body.
The path that the soul follows after death is a very complex one, it is not as simple as going to Hell or going to Heaven. There are many different options, some of them are, to reincarnate on a different body, to leave the soul helpless nor in Geheinom or Shamayim and not even a body. The process of reincarnation not necessarily happens in a human body, according to the level of tikun that needs to be done, the soul can reincarnate into a rock, plant, animal or human being.
One of the Sages from whom we learn a lot about this topic is Rabbi Yehuda Petayah (1859-1942), he was a student of the Ben Ish Chai and he lived in Bagdad. He wrote Minhat Yehuda where we can find valuable information about the soul.
Based on the previous mentioned book (Minhat Yehuda), a little spooky story:
The story takes place on Kislev 5663(1903), Rabbi Yehuda was approached by a man named Yeheskel Ezra Bachur, who was not on the best path according to the good practice of Judaism and was starting to be attracted to Christianity. Rabbi Yehuda Petayah was already familiar with the story of this man; since Yecheskel had gone already to the Ben Ish Chai, who ordered Rabbi Yehuda to write a mezuzah for this man; but it did not work and that was the reason why Yeheskel came again to Rabbi
Petayah.
The Rabbi started to recite yichudim until the soul inside Yeheskel body coulndt resist it anymore saying: "What does the Rabbi want?" to what Rabbi Yehuda answered "Tell me your name and where do you come from?". The soul inside started coursing the Rabbi while the Rabbi kept reciting yichudim, then the spirit said " My name is Tzvi Ben Rivkah and I am from the city of Smyrna".
Yeheskel desperately shouted "GO TO GEHINOM!" but the spirit answered back "Im not yet worthy to go to Gehinom, since I am guilty of too many sins not even Gehinom is enough for my tikun"
Rabbi Yehuda then asked "Are not you Shabtai Tzvi from Izmir, who made himself pass as the Mashiach?". The spirit accepted his identity. "237 years have passed since your death, tell me where have you reincarnated all this time?" The Rabbi asked and started to recite more yichudim for the soul in pain. Rabbi Yehuda then asked him: "Tell me, did my meditations have helped you in any way?", to what the spirit answered: "Yes, yes, indeed I feel i lighter klipah upon me!"
"Without exaggeration how thick is the klipah lefto on you?" the rabbi asked.
"It is at least two feet thick. Indeed I am Shabtai Tzvi, I did not repent before my death and I was buried in a gentile cemetery. Even while while I was alive the klipah would materialize in front of my eyes, causing me to go evil".
The spirit continued telling about all his pain and journey after his death. He went through demonic beatings for 12 years and reincarnated numerous times in wild animals. The invasion of Yeheskel was the first time invading a human.
Rabbi Yehuda advised Yeheskel to learn Torah and Zohar each day in the early morning for the sake of elevating the soul of Shabtai Tzvi. He also instructed to immerse in the mikveh everyday and disregard every evil thought.
The spirit requested to keep saying yechudim and blowing the shofar at Yeheskel ears for him to earn the right to enter Gehinom and atone for his soul. Within few days, the rabbi inspected and realized that the spirit had departed the body of Yeheskel Ezra Bachur.
