The Shabbat that is between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is called Shabbat Shuvah, The Shabbat of return. The name is due to the Haftarah from Hosheah that is read on this Shabbat that start with the words “Shuva Israel”, “Return Oh Israel”. The idea is to awaken our hearts so that we come back to Hashem and connect to Him.
During this shabbat the service is as usual except that on the Amida we have to make some additions that also apply to the 10 days of repentance. It is also customary that the Rabbi of the community gives a speech on Teshuvah due to the closeness to Yom Kippur and the importance of coming back to Hashem.
This Shabbat also has a kabbalistic scope, we have the opportunity to make a huge tikun. During this shabbat we have the opportunity to make amendments as if you were living all of the previous shabbats at the same time. Hashem is giving us the opportunity to keep Shabbat as we are supposed to , to prepare properly and to take advantage of it
May this Shabbat be one full of blessing, of opportunity to come back to Hashem and to be able to make Tikun on all of what we. Blessings from King David Kabbalah in Har Tzion Jerusalem.
