This Meditation is good at almost any time, but it is very special and fitting for the Sukkah since that is the time to work on our Emunah. Sukkot gives the potential to strengthen our Emunah more than the rest of the year.
The Zohar Promises that anyone who sits under the shade of faith receives an inheritance of freedom for himself and for his children. The Zohar continues that one that takes himself outside of the shadow of faith, receives the inheritance of exile for him and his children.
What is the connection between Faith to freedom or exile?
Before answering we must explain that the Zohar is talking about the spiritual level of our being.
What is spiritual freedom? and what is spiritual exile?
Like in physical terms a person that nebach, was captured has lost his freedom, and a person that goes out of his native place is in exile. In the spiritual plane, freedom means not to be captured by external forces.
Through the power of faith and more specifically in the Sukkah we can merit protection from external forces and gain freedom. On the opposite end, a person that is lacking Emmunah is taken away from his spiritual place and that is spiritual exile.
